Minutes – CMS Music Boosters
April 9, 2019 - 6:30 p.m.
Called to Order at 6:33 p.m. by Susan Hazo.
Present: Jennifer Ramsay, Eric Kobb, Catherine Hammon, Linda Lennon, Susan Hazo, Katherine Knight, John Lennon
Treasurer’s Report: Current Balance is a little over $10301.90.  
New Business:
  • Teacher Requests:  $172 for new instrumental lockers.  Motion made to approve by Susan Hazo.  Seconded by Linda Lennon. Approved.
  • Dallas Brass - Concert went well.  Kids and parents all enjoyed the production.  In the future more advertising for large events might bring in more audience members.  
  • Hosting NHMEA SE District Music Festival with Strings on May 11, 2019.  We will host 3 performing groups here. About 250 kids here with teacher chaperones.  Guest conductors. Rehearsals and concert.
  • Library for Directors Lounge - Breakfast Station - Donuts, coffee, fixings, bagels, cream cheese, butter, spoons, yogurt, fruit, orange/cranberry juice, water 8:30 - 12:00ish - we can reimburse the costs through the festival funds/NHMEA - Susan Hazo will do.  
  • Set up Gym
  • Registration Table
  • Set up Stage and Auditorium on Friday after school - Tri-M kids?
  • Lunch:  Pizza, salad, forks, water, cookies, plates, napkins - need help setting up and serving to kids and teachers (300 people) - Pizza Academy (gluten free ?) (Jen/Eric will do pizza order)  Trays for serving salad
  • Snack for kids in mid-afternoon.  Water and fruit and something messy (chips, granola, cereal bars)
  • Assistance switching stage for dress rehearsal time, concert and after space clean up - also Tri-M kids
  • 2-3 parents to sell tickets - 45 minutes before the each concert - Chorus first, then Band/Orchestra parents later - park around back and hold in gym lobby.  Parking signs for direct traffic. Bleachers for parents to hold. Set up Orchestra on far end of the gym?
  • Parent to sell recording at table in lobby
  • Nurse on sight needed for the day.  Ask for registered nurse? Paid position.  RN or Paramedic needed.
  • Ensemble managers needed- will discuss
  • We will get an honorarium of about $1500 for the Boosters for hosting.  

  • 8th Grade Extravaganza Concert will be repeated on May 23, 2019.   This will involve all 8th grade band, chorus and orchestra students in the gym.  We’ll need $$ for sound guy. Theme will be Stage and Screen Theme. Need $750 for sound for this event.   Need help breaking down. Announce that night. Motion pay up to $750. Susan Hazo. Seconded by John Lennon. Approved.
